Last week a few folks from NYU in New York came out to do some recon work for upcoming candidate weekends. As both a team building exercise and as important research for work, we decided to go on a dhow dinner cruise along the Corniche in Abu Dhabi. It was a classic evening, but unfortunately, very little of that had to do with our dining experience.
Step 1: Squeeze 15 large adults into a van designed to seat 13 small children. — MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

In our mission debriefing and after-action-report, it was pretty much unanimous that the food was terrible. More importantly, several of us who attended experienced a wide range of gastro-intestinal problems which may have also developed into cold and flu like symptoms that quickly spread through the entire staff. We don’t yet know the ultimate source of the “Sama Swine Flu,” but patient zero may have been on this cruise.
